By the people for the people!

Volunteer opportunities!
.....................................................................................................................
o Fundraising
For financing our various community projects we are constantly looking for experienced fundraisers with grant writing proposal know-how.

o Marketing
In order to expand our global network and to inform the public about our organization and projects we are always looking for experienced marketing
specialists and graphic designers.

o Healthcare
As we also host diverse health related projects we greatly appreciate the support from healthcare professionals.

o Teaching
There are different teaching possibilities. Maybe you would enjoy hosting a workshop for our children or the women?

o Microcredit programmes
If you have any special handicraft skills that you would like to teach our women from our Microcredit programme, your skills will greatly be appreciated.

o IT
If you are an IT specialist we could use your help for updating/redoing our homepage and increase our results in search engines.

o Environment and/or agriculture management
The environment is very important for a healthy community. We have already hosted different workshops.

o Training
Maybe you have special skills that you would like to teach our community.

o Retail
If you have contacts in the retail industry in your country you could help us sell our handicrafts from our Microcredit program to individuals and small stores in Europe or the US.

You can also support us directly from your home. We are often in need for translators, and SHEWD members that represent us at local trade shows and conventions in order to increase our global network.

Why volunteer with SHEWD?!
............................................................................

There are several reasons why you should volunteer with SHEWD.

1.  Our entire staff works on a voluntary basis, meaning all funding flows directly into our projects and operating costs are kept as low as possible.

2. Given that we are a small organization you wont spend you time with boring tasks such as filing or data entry but rather gain hands on experience with initiating or executing projects. We believe that our international volunteers bring excellent ideas and skills to our organization. There is also the possibility for you to initiate your own project with the help of our organization.

3. You will quickly realize that our staff and volunteers welcome you as a friend . Local support will be there at all times during your stay, so you will never be lonely.

Your kind support will
be greatly appreciated!
By buying our high quality fashion items you will directly support the women involved in our HIPKNIT project.  In order for the women to be eligible for participation, they have to attend the free basic literacy programm organized by SHEWD and commit themselves to sending their children to school. The women will receive a well above average salary and remaining profits will directly be reinvested into expanding the HIPKNIT project, as well as, other community projects from which the women will  profit as well.
